BTS Sponsors Building Performance PhD – Optimising Low-Pressure Airtightness Testing
Never ones to stand still, we are teaming up with University of Nottingham to sponsor a PhD to further develop and enhance the science behind the low pressure pulse airtightness test method. Leveraging well over 10 million data points from more than 100,000 tests, the opportunity is to explore descriptive, predictive, and generative modelling techniques to enhance test accuracy, usability, and insight into leakage dynamics across diverse constructions.

This exciting, fully-funded PhD opportunity invites applications from candidates with a robust foundation in data science, modelling, and/or engineering, and a keen interest in deploying data analysis and artificial intelligence (AI) to solve real-world problems in the built environment.
As well as spending time on placement with us, the candidate will have access to facilities and support from both the School of Computer Science and the Department of Architecture and Built Environment.
