This training course is suitable for existing Level 1 Airtightness Testers who have acquired the qualification using the Blower Door method. After completion of the Upskill course testers will need to register with the Elmhurst Airtightness Scheme in order to be able to lodge airtightness tests.
This practical, hands-on programme introduces existing Testers to the Pulse low-pressure method. Attendees will learn how to prepare the building for a Pulse test, set up the equipment, conduct a test and interpret the test results. In addition, we will discuss the guidance for how to present a test report according to CIBSE TM23.

Assessment:

The final part of the assessment is the completion of a test portfolio after the in-person training. Learners are required to perform Pulse tests for 3 non-identical properties and submit the results including evidence. The portfolios will be assessed by BTS technical staff.
Portfolio:
After completing the course learners are required to create a portfolio of 3 test cases using your own Pulse equipment (hire kits may be available, subject to availability).
Once completed and assessed you will receive your official certificate.
Competent Person Scheme:
Upon successful completion of the training day and the portfolio you will be eligible to join the Elmhurst Airtightness Scheme and certify buildings in your capacity as a Level 1 Airtightness tester.
