Level 1 Airtightness Testing Training

Training to become a Level 1 airtightness tester allows you to test simple buildings up to the size of 4,000m3. Air leakage testing has become an integral part of the new build process with Part L of the Building Regulations requiring that all new-build dwellings are tested. It is also a requirement to be Level 1 qualified if you are carrying out tests to satisfy PAS2035 or if you are using results in an EPC for an existing dwelling.

Course Overview

This Build Test Solutions Level 1 airtightness testing course uniquely provides candidates with the knowledge and skills to carry out low pressure Pulse airtightness testing on simple buildings up to 4,000m3 (new and existing).

With this qualification, testers may go on to register with an authorised airtightness competent persons scheme and generate tests for the purposes of new build compliance (Part L), retrofit (PAS2035) and Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs).

The course is designed in accordance with the National Occupational Standards (NOS) as set by the Government which defines the competency levels required by the authorised airtightness Scheme Operators, Elmhurst and ATTMA.
